How Much Does Long-Distance Medical Transport Cost?
The honest answer: it depends on your route. Long-distance medical transport is priced trip-by-trip, and distance is the biggest factor — a 300-mile transport and a 1,500-mile transport are very different services. This page explains exactly what goes into your price, and the fastest way to get your real number: a free online quote that takes about two minutes. Last updated July 12, 2026.

The five factors that set your transport price
- Distance and route. The miles between the pickup address and the destination address are the primary driver of every long-distance transport quote. State-to-state transports of 200 or more miles are our specialty.
- Seated or lay-down transport. All of our vehicles let clients lie completely flat or sit up during transport. A passenger who must travel lying down needs a different configuration than one who can ride seated.
- Care needs during the trip. Our two-member medical teams assist with prescribed medications, maintain feeding tubes, supply previously prescribed oxygen, and handle personal care en route. The level of support your loved one needs shapes the quote.
- Bedside-to-bedside logistics. We pick up from and deliver to the exact room — home, hospital, or care facility — including stairs, transfers, and coordination with staff at both ends.
- Scheduling. Pickup timing and coordination requirements at each facility round out the price of the trip.
What every quote includes
Your price is for a complete, staffed transport — not a ride. Every trip runs in a vehicle we own (we conduct all our own trips and do not broker to outside vendors), with a two-member team on board. We specifically hire personnel such as EMTs and Paramedics for their experience in medical transportation. Vehicles are customized for safety and comfort, with full lay-down capability, rear air conditioning, and electrical outlets.
Why we quote each trip individually
A flat rate card would either overcharge families with simple trips or undercharge the transports that need the most care — so we price each trip against its actual route and needs. That is also why we encourage you to get your quote before making any decision: it is free, fast, and specific to your family’s situation. If we believe you are better off choosing an alternative method of transport, we will be the first to let you know.

Cost questions families ask us
- What determines the price of a long-distance medical transport? Distance is the primary factor — long-distance ground transports are priced by the route between the pickup and destination addresses. The level of care your loved one needs during the trip, bedside-to-bedside logistics at each end, and scheduling also shape the final quote.
- Why isn't there a flat price list? Because no two transports are the same. A 250-mile transport for a seated passenger and a 1,500-mile lay-down transport with oxygen support are very different trips. Every quote is calculated for your exact route and care needs, so you only pay for the service your family actually requires.
- Is the online quote really free? Yes. The online quote takes about two minutes, is completely free, and does not commit you to anything. A transport coordinator follows up to confirm the details of your trip.
- Is long-distance ground transport the right choice for my family? For medically stable passengers who cannot travel by ordinary car or commercial flight, a staffed ground medical transport is often the most practical way to cover long distances. If we believe you are better off choosing an alternative method, we will be the first to let you know.
- How quickly can I get an exact price? Use the online quote form — it takes about two minutes — or call the number at the top of this page. A transport coordinator will confirm your route and needs and give you your price.
